Welcome to the website of Quorn Lawn Tennis Club, the friendly club in Quorn - a village in the heart of Charnwood Forest, Leicestershire - that caters for players of all ages and abilities.

Forthcoming events

Club nights (Wednesdays & Fridays): these are held Wednesdays from 5.00pm and Fridays from 5.15pm for senior and intermediate members.   If you are thinking of joining our Club, do come down on one of these evenings and introduce yourself - or better still bring your kit and have a (free) game! We have had a pleasing number of new members join us this season; do you want to join too?

Facilities

We have four, outdoor, shale courts that are regularly maintained by a professional groundsman.  This court surface is particularly good for the knees and close line calls!   There is also a newly-refurbished Club House which hosts a number of Club activities throughout the season and has changing and showering facilities.   The Club adjoins a pub, which is handy after strenuous exertions on sunny Club Nights.

Tennis & coaching for all ages (all year!)
Our membership ranges from young children in our Junior section (from 6 years old), Intermediates (14-18 years old) and Adults (some of whom are in their 80's!).   We all enjoy the fun of developing our tennis in friendly competition and good camaraderie in a pleasant countryside location.

One of our members is a fully-qualified, licensed coach who provides coaching for any member wanting/needing it.  So, if you are not sure about your standard of play, our coach is ready to freshen up your game!  You can contact our coach by emailing coach@qltc.org.uk

Coaching for juniors and intermediates, during the season, is provided as part of their Club membership fee and takes place on Weekday afternoons.

Junior practice sessions take place each week under the supervision of an adult.   Out of season coaching for all age groups, at reasonable rates,  is arranged at Rawlins, a community college in the centre of Quorn.   Also out of season, some Club members arrange between themselves to continue playing on indoor courts in nearby Loughborough.

Club nights

The Club Nights are the heart of our Club and take place on Wednesday and Friday nights (from about 5.00 p.m. till dusk) throughout the season.   You don't have to book, you just have to come along.   Play is mainly centred around mixed-doubles but varies according to the availability of players and courts.  Play rotates, so you are always sure of getting a game (and a drink).

Club tournaments
Club members arrange a variety of tournaments on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season.   These are usually associated with some after-tournament functions such as a barbeque, a cheese and wine party or a tea party, which family members can join (see below).   In addition, we hold an annual black-tie dinner dance and a pre-season party.   Since we are affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association, QLTC members also have access to tickets for Wimbledon through the Club allocation.

If you are into match play, we also field various teams and tournaments including matches for juniors and intermediates.
